The Serenity Blanket FAQs
How does a weighted blanket work?
A weighted blanket relies on the principles of deep pressure stimulation for its therapeutic effects. Basically, the added weight triggers a host of beneficial changes in the body, including increased serotonin and melatonin production, decreased cortisol production, as well as an increased sense of calmness and relaxation, among others.
How do I choose the weight of my blanket?
Occupational therapists recommend getting a blanket that’s 10 to 15% of your body weight. However, if you’re not used to sleeping with heavy blankets, we recommend a lighter version to get started.
How big is the blanket?
Our adult blanket is 198 cm x 122 cm (48” x 78”) Our Queen/King blanket is 198cm x 122cm (85” x 78”) The kids’ version is 104 x 152cm
How do I ensure even weight distribution?
If you have a feeling that your blanket is bunched up in the middle, make sure that the inner ties are secured to the cover.
Is a weighted blanket recommended for babies and toddlers?
We have a kids blanket ideal for children however for safety reasons we don’t recommend any of our blankets for toddlers under 2 years of age. When giving your child a weighted blanket make sure that your child can lift the blanket safely before putting them to bed with it.
Is the Serenity Blanket appropriate for warm weather?
It can be. We have worked for months to design a blanket that can be used throughout the year.
Is the blanket machine-washable?
Yes, both the cover and the inner blanket are machine-washable. We recommend separating them and washing on a gentle cycle in tepid or warm water. Use only mild detergents and don’t use fabric softeners.
SAFETY - Please do not use the blanket near an open flame. Our blankets are not suitable for children under 2 years of age. If any part of the blanket rips or begins leaking, please dispose of it immediately. Do not consume the beads. We recommend parent supervision when a child is using the blanket.
Delivery & Shipping
Delivery is free?
Yes, express delivery to the UK, and a number of EU countries that we are able to service, is completely free of charge.
Due to the high cost of transport to the area customers from Norway will be expected to pay a delivery charge.
*Please note that if you purchase a pre-sale item and an in-stock item in the same order, both items will be sent out at the same time once all stock is available at our warehouse for dispatch.
Can I cancel an order after I have placed it?
You can cancel your order as long as your item has not been shipped, our turn around time for shipping is usually 20 minutes from order time.
If you are unhappy with your item it can be returned for details on how to return your item please email support@serenityblankt.co.uk shipping funds are not refundable.

What is our return policy?
We are so confident in our Serenity Blanket we will give you a 30 day trial, if for any reason you are unhappy with your Blanket we will give you a full refund, you will need to provide proof of purchase.
How can I return something?
If you want to return any, please let us know by sending us an email
One of our customer representatives will reach out to you as soon as possible; usually within the same day. Please bear in mind, when waiting for your reply, that our Customer Service Team operates from UK and is therefore may be in a different time zone.
To expedite the process, please include the following information in your initial email:
- Order number and name used to place the order
- Product you are looking to return
- Reason why you are considering returning the item
Our Customer Service Team will then ask a few mandatory questions regarding your return in order to for us to avoid people taking advantage of our system, however this information will enable us to start your returns process immediately.
Please consider the return postage costs before making your purchase decision.

How do I pay for my order?
We accept Mastercard, Visa, and American Express, Klarna You can also use Paypal, to fast-track the payment process. We cannot accept cash or payments over the phone at this point.
